As I read this book I saw my parents and grandparents and so many generations back of strong people that made me who I am and dreamt of a better future for their children. That’s a story I think anyone from anywhere in America can relate to.
Why Libraries?
You may be of the mindset that libraries are a thing of the past. With e-readers and the internet, who needs them, right? Wrong.
Libraries are just as important today as they were in earlier eras. They are information hubs and community centers that promote sustainability through their book borrowing programs, education with technology resources, and fellowship from programming for people of all ages and backgrounds. That’s just within the four walls of your local library. Many libraries offer eBooks and audiobook rentals that can be reserved and downloaded online. They also act as a resource for information, such as genealogy and health, by providing online links to trusted sources. The benefits of joining your local library stretch outside of your occasional book borrow.
Books, Books, and More Books
Hardbacks, paperbacks, eBooks, and audiobooks, our libraries are home to them all! Visit us to peruse the shelves or request your next read online through our card catalog or interlibrary loan system.
Technology Resources
Use of public computers and wifi is completely free and does not require a library card. Each of our four libraries have desktop computers, as well as laptops for use. You may also connect to the wifi using your own device.
Access to Information
In today’s world you can access free information via Google and open source applications, but our libraries have access to databases and software that you would have to pay for. All you need is a library card.
Community Programs
No matter the age, our libraries offer something for everyone. Programming is unique to each library. To see what’s happening at your local library visit their landing page.
