Welcome to Parrott-Wood Memorial Library!
Our library is proud of our history serving the Strawberry Plains, TN, community. In October 1969, the very small Strawberry Plains Library was ranked 7th in the region of 99 libraries, flourishing and bursting out at the seams. With a twinkle in her eye, Mrs. Mayme Parrott-Wood shared her dream of building a larger library for her community. She felt the area deserved a better facility to further promote the desires and education opportunities of the adults and very young.
With great enthusiasm Mrs. Parrott-Wood asked a friend to draw up temporary plans for a new library. On October 25, 1969, Mrs. Parrott-Wood gave the go ahead to purchase the materials for the new library. With dedicated volunteers and Mrs. Parrott-Wood as the benefactor, the new library began to take shape. On January 18, 1970, the new Parrott-Wood Memorial Library had its grand opening.
Today, we still take great pride in our library and our community. From computer usage to print services and classes as well as programs, Parrott-Wood Memorial offers you a vast array of services and opportunities.
